To be clear it does not happen on every key that is held down. I once thought the issue only presented when gaming but I am fairly certain it happens regardless of what is going on, I have only seen it with the shift key when outside of gaming. I have never noticed the issue when I remote in to the machine but it happens quite often when I am gaming. net I am using my main system (Linux) and Remmina to remote in, when gaming I use the computer on my TV. This machine is primarily used for gaming and. I have swapped keyboards, uninstalled keyboard drivers, and triple checked that I disabled sticky keys. About 6 months ago my Windows computer started to have an issue where if I press a key it will sometimes become stuck and remain held until I press the key again. I dont known much about registry editing but im thinking a registry edit in the right files of the on screen keyboard is whats needed to force the dark mode skin.Īm away from my computer right now but will update with build numbers and screenshots if needed. I saw just one thing online with someone describing this issue and I think incorrectly someone suggested its something to do with graphics issues ect, im sure its not my display and the fact that it switches when the modes are switched makes me sure its just an issue switching between these modes in this update. Ive done some research and for some apps you can use the registry editor to make them in dark mode but can't seam to find a way to do it to the onscreen keyboard. I but difficult to describe but i want to have a system wide light mode but with the onscreen keyboard in dark mode just like it was.
But having dark mode system wide makes the file explorer and other windows look awful. Ive found that changing the whole system to dark mode solves it and puts it back as I want.
On my microsoft surface the on screen keyboard was like the one in dark mode however after the latest update suddenly its gone to a in my opinion awful looking white one. Mouse was working flawlessly, just the keyboard was gone (it was working fine last night) If anyone knows what happened, I'd love to know. Not sure Weirdly, the button mapping was wrong, in Firefox the keys B would open browser history and other keys randomly close tabs etc. While in the broken state, none of the trouble shooting guides worked, which included plugging in a different keyboard as well. What finally fixed it, was updating windows to 21H1 KB5005611. And yes, filler keys were off, tried "keyboard fix trouble" shooter, device manager, different usb port and what not Did a quick google search and nothing helped.

Finding it odd, i disconnected my keyboard and proceeded to use my Laptop keyboard with no availįinally managed to login using the screen keyboard and tried restarting my pc, or checking for driver updates. Tryinh to log into my computer today, my keyboard not responding, where only the "Enter" key worked.
